"Fair Go"? Even before we owned a home internet computer, we actually won a prize of airfare for two from Sydney to Las Vegas round trip, 6 nites @ Caesar's Palace & a thousand Australian dollars! That was 2003 & we took the trip in 2004, all thanks to Port Macquarie Panthers/Harvey Norman public computer terminal, Ubisoft, NineMSN & a few pointers from a free tutor service on Wednesday afternoons. But that was then & this is now & this year we have already been disqualified from Unilever Australia's Lynx Anti-Soap Squad because of too many entries in a contest invitation of 'enter as often as you want', culminating in, '...not in the spirit of the competition...' after a mere 50 entries. Then today, in another effort, after the five[5] allowed entries for me, 'Redspace-MovieNetworks' say the limit is already used for the attempts to enter five[5] more for the bride! With two [2] subscription television services in our home for MovieNetworks & the fine print of '5 entries per person per day', it would seem we would be entitled fairly to enjoy 20 entries daily from our home with both of us using 5 entries from each of our two[2] subscription services, right? Well that's how a real lawyer would argue pure math & logic, if only there was such a thing as a real lawyer in Australia. But without finding a decent waitress in 8 years here, would it be 'expected' to find a real lawyer? {& the bride expects me to represent the USA in another ANZAC March?} "Fair go"? Yeah, "Righty - oh"! No friggin WAY! Oh well... Tanx fer noticin Suz! & yet it barely scratches da suface :[
What is the difference between first class and business class airfare? I am anxious to visit New York City! I know it takes about 21 hours as I would leave from Sydney airport. I am a fussy eater and I fidget a lot and I have traveled Europe when I was younger. The longest flight being 12 hours and I thought it was absolute torture. I would much rather be in either business class or first class, but I don't really know the price difference or the actual difference of cabins. I know it is much more expensive, but I would die in coach.ha ha Can you also tell me if it's cheaper to get a 2 one way only tickets, or a return ticket?
Is a 1300km road trip from sydney to queensland too much for a 17yr old? Moving to United States on DV visa and opened envelope supposed to give customs. Will I still be allowed in? I have booked my flight to New York for three weeks time from Australia where I have won a Diveristy Visa in the lottery and have noticed in the instructions to hand over my sealed envelope to customs on arrival. I have mistakenly already opened this envelope and am hoping I am still be able to pass through customs on arrival. To get this envelope replaced involves flying to Sydney return for approx $500+ (the closest consulate office) and possibly paying for my American airfare again, given the processing/wait times at the consulate. Would I be able to get through with my opened envelope containing all my required documents? Which uni course to choose? HELP!!!? Kind of a long question but here goes.. Last year I was doing a Bachelor of nursing and theology at a uni in sydney. I got credits in all my subjects 1st semester and then in the 2nd semester half way through I got really ill and ended up in hospital and didn't finish the semester. I failed all my subjects because I couldnt fill in all the forms in time (which I dont mind). Anyway this year I got into a different uni to study marine science which is something Ive wanted to do for ages. Problem is, is that it is in tasmania a long way from sydney, its a very prestigous school to do the course at though and I would like to go. however I would be getting enough money to support myself while I am down there, after paying my rent and bills I may not eat, let alone buy text books... what if I dont find a job. The university where I was doing nursing has said that I am welcome to come back and just resit the 3 subjects I failed and i can catch up in summer and winter school so that i graduate with my class. I already have all the text books and will be living with my mother so will have food and all covered. Also I may be getting a equality scholarship. Ive already paid the bond and airfare to go to school in tasmaina, will i get the bond back?? My parents cant help me out either... I dont know what to do.. please give me a suggestion which way to turn... im so up in the air about this... and i need to make the decison today!!!!

Where should I go in Australia with my Aussie AirPass? I'm planning on using the Aussie AirPass deal with Qantas: round trip airfare from Los Angeles to Australia, plus three flights within Australia, all over 21 days (so overall you can visit four different places in Australia). I know I would like Sydney to be one of the four destinations, but I'm not sure what I should use for the other three. I'm a college-age male, who will be going with my mom who is in her fifties. I have no international travel experience other than going to Canada. Some options that we have discussed for the other three destinations are melbourne, perth, uluru (ayers rock), darwin, and cairns, among others. We'd like to get a full taste of australia, preferably including the great barrier reef (it seems like there are many airports to choose from for this). The trip will be in August 2008 (hopefully Qantas will have the a380 by then!). What would you reccomend?
Help with Australia trip? Me and my venture crew (its a coed group of high school and college aged kids 14-21, under the umbrella of boy scoutss) wants to plan a trip to australia. where can we get cheap airfare and what are some ideas of what to do there. we are a high adventure group, so were up for mountains, beaches, backpacking, canoeing, climbing, scubadiving, just about anything. were thinking sydney, unless we can find cheaper tickets and some of us definetly want to do the great barrier reef, but we dont know what else to do so any ideas anywhere in australia would be helpful because we all are from america and dont know anything about australia thanks :D
Where is a good place to go backpacking in the USA? For say 2-3 weeks. And about how much will it cost without airfares? I'm from Australia. When I went to Brisbane from Sydney, I stayed in a backpackers lodge overnight. And I felt safe leaving my suitcase in my room, and I only took a small bag to walk around Brisbane, with my keys to my room and the usual stuff you'd take walking around for a couple of hours (nothing was stolen). Can you do the same in the USA, or are there too many dishonest people? It sounds naive, I know. The other people in my room were 2 German tourists and they were nice people.
The parent trap? An elderly man in Adelaide calls his son in Sydney and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough." "Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams. "We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old man says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Brisbane and tell her," and he hangs up. Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this." She calls her dad immediately, and screams at the old man, "You are NOT getting divorced! Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife "Okay," he says, "They're coming for Christmas and paying their own airfares."

Would You Take this Dream Job? Australia offers 'best job in world' on paradise island … SYDNEY (AFP) – An Australian state is offering internationally what it calls "the best job in the world" -- earning a top salary for lazing around a beautiful tropical island for six months. The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (105,000 US dollars) and includes free airfares from the winner's home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland's state government announced on Tuesday. In return, the "island caretaker" will be expected to stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of "a few minor tasks" -- and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates. The successful applicant, who will stay rent-free in a three-bedroom beach home complete with plunge pool and golf buggy, must be a good swimmer, excellent communicator and be able to speak and write English. "They'll also have to talk to media from time to time about what they're doing so they can't be too shy and they'll have to love the sea, the sun, the outdoors," said acting state Premier Paul Lucas. "The fact that they will be paid to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, swim, snorkel and generally live the Queensland lifestyle makes this undoubtedly the best job in the world." Lucas said the campaign was part of a drive to protect the state's 18 billion Australian dollar a year tourism industry during the tough economic climate caused by the global financial meltdown. "Traditional tourism advertising just doesn't cut it sometimes and we are thinking outside the box by launching this campaign."

What is a typical price for a flight to Australia from Canada in September? Hi guys, another Australia question: What is a typical airfare from Vancouver to Australia? I know it's a whole country but I just want to *get* there and worry about the rest later. so: a)Which city is cheapest to fly into? Sydney? b)What is a typical airfare for the shoulder season (September). c)What are some sites to find cheap airfares? I already know expedia and travelocity, and aircanada claims the flight is 5600$! I Thanks! Hello, Thanks, I just want to get there and worry after about getting around. Whichever city is cheapest to fly into is good enough!
How can I tell him to let it go? (this is long)? Hi there. If you've read some of my questions, you probably know that I live in Sydney, Australia and that I'm net-flirting with an awesome guy who lives in the US. Well, we've been net flirting for over 3 months and I feel that it's time for him to let it go. Sure, I love him, I really do, but we have no hope of being together. I'm on the other side of the globe, we can't spend time together, phone chat is too expensive and we can't afford airfares. We're also busy working (I'm a lawyer) and I'm about to go back to do my honors degree, which at my university, will take 5 years. In the next few years, 5 to be exact, I want to be married, have kids and be finished with all my schooling, and by the time that happens, I'll be 32. I can't do any of that if he keeps hanging on, because I'm 27 and I need to start dating again. I just want him to suck it up to a fantasy, because we'll never be together, but I don't know how I should tell him without him hating me or destroying our friendship (we're really close). Please, no stupid suggestions. I'm really serious. Thanks in advance. Kelly
