Cheapest Flights to Sydney

On a longhaul flight to Hong Kong, what happens when the flight refuels at Sydney? Do the flight crew change?

  1. Hong Kong sucks too crowded Best countries: Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic And the crew may change it's different. You will land and refuel and be back in the air in approx. 1 hour
  2. Probably. But since you didnt mention which flight, it is hard to say. the other option would be two have two cockpit crews on the plane one will sleep while the other crew operates the first part of the flight. About halfway through, they switch seats, and the B crew flies the plane, while the A crew rests.
  3. not every airline goes to hong Kong via Sydney especically if they are coming from the states ! they would usually land in Japan NOT Sydney or prehaps Guam, Taiwan or hawaii why would they go from thje US to Sydey before goigt o Hong kong thats waste of fuelQ!
  4. Henry, with long-haul flights where the crew is on duty more than 8-10 hours, there is mandated crew rest, so the crew usually will spend 2 nights in Sydney and then fly back. This is one reason why it takes so many pilots to man an airline. Regards, Dan
  5. I pilot can not fly for more than 8 hours, so if he is flying a 14 hour flight there will be two other pilots on the airplane also. If it is a 10 hour there will be one back up pilot to allow the others to have a rest. So on ANY flight longer than 8 hours once the plane lands the flight crews will change.
