Cheapest Flights to Sydney

flights from NYC to Sydney dear?

i am goin to NYC now in sep for 3mnths, but i would like to go straight over to Sydney from new york instead of coming home to Ireland 1st.. Dearer or cheaper?

1. hey! i think try qantas although i m not sure if they have a stop in L.A. =]
2. They are pretty similar in price actually when I did a similar thing. It will take you 21 hrs from NYC and about 30 if you go via Ireland but when I did it (3 yrs ago) only qantas was doing the trip so it was pricey. Air New Zealand fly via Auckland from LA so that may work out a bit cheaper. I think though a round the world ticket usually works out to be the same price.
